Most of what Star has gained in the last few years is houses, not clinics. When residents look for medical weight loss or hormone care they usually find two choices: a long drive into Boise or an online-only prescriber who never runs labs. Alturas is the third option. A licensed clinic 15 minutes down the highway, owned and run by Dr. Ashley Southern, NMD, where we review lab work before prescribing whenever it is medically appropriate and follow-ups can be done by video once you are underway.
Highway 44 to Highway 16, across the river to Chinden. About 15 minutes from the roundabout in Star, with free parking at the door.
Dr. Ashley Southern, NMD, owns the clinic and writes every plan. You see the same small team at every visit.
Lab work reviewed before prescribing whenever it is medically appropriate, drawn on-site when needed, then a program reviewed at each follow-up.
Come in for the first visit (and labs, when medically appropriate), then handle most check-ins by video. Medication can ship to your door.
Physician-supervised semaglutide and tirzepatide programs with lab work, dose adjustments and nutrition guidance. The number one reason people call us from Star.
Bioidentical hormone replacement for perimenopause and menopause: hot flashes, poor sleep, mood changes and weight that will not budge.
Low-T testing and treatment with follow-up labs to keep levels where they should be. Often paired with a weight loss plan.
Pellets placed in one short visit at the Meridian clinic, then steady hormone levels for months with nothing to remember daily.
Physician-prescribed peptides for recovery, injury support and body composition, prescribed after a consultation and every one made in the United States.
Rather not drive at all? Our online clinic serves all of Idaho with the same medical oversight and individualized plans.
One trip to Meridian to get started, then the plan runs mostly from your phone. Three steps, all overseen by a physician.
Call, text or use the form. Your first visit is at the Meridian clinic, about 15 minutes from Star, or by video if that is easier.
Blood is drawn on-site the same day. Dr. Southern reviews your results and history and writes your plan, including prescription weight loss medication when it fits.
Medication ships to Star or is picked up in Meridian. Follow-ups are video calls where progress, side effects and dose are reviewed. Come in whenever you want to be seen in person.

Every plan at Alturas is written and managed by Dr. Southern, not a call center. She reviews your history, orders the labs that are needed and builds a plan around your results, then adjusts it with you at each follow-up.
Patients from Star, Middleton and the west end of the valley see her in clinic in Meridian or by telehealth.
About 15 minutes and 8 miles from the center of Star, with free parking when you arrive. We see patients from every part of town: downtown Star along State Street, the neighborhoods north of Highway 44 toward the foothills, the river side of town near Star Road and the Riverwalk, and the newer subdivisions along Floating Feather, Beacon Light and Can-Ada Road.
Whether you are coming from a walk at Star Riverwalk Park, a game at Hunter’s Creek Sports Park, the Greenbelt along the Boise River, or the summer Star Hometown Celebration, you are a short drive from physician-supervised care at Alturas. Many Star patients fold the visit into a Meridian errand run.

No. We have one clinic, in Meridian, and we serve Star through that location plus telehealth. For most Star residents it is a shorter trip than any clinic in Boise.
Most of it. After your first visit (and lab draw, when medically appropriate), follow-ups are video calls and medication can ship to your address in Star. Lab draws, pellet placements and any physical exam happen in the clinic.
Physician-supervised GLP-1 weight loss is the most common reason. Hormone therapy for women, testosterone therapy for men, hormone pellets and peptide therapy are close behind, and many patients combine them.
Our programs are self-pay and we explain pricing before you start anything. The consultation is free.
Dr. Ashley Southern, NMD, reviews your labs and writes and manages your plan. Emily and Kaylee handle scheduling, questions and refills, so you talk to the same small team every time.
We hold consultation times each week for new patients. Call or text (208) 690-2040 and we can usually see you within the week, in clinic or by video.
No referral is needed. If you have a primary care provider in Star or Middleton, we are happy to coordinate with them and share lab results.
